I do not like that there are not any answer pages at the end of book for the Knowledge Assessment at the end of the chapter.
I like the presentation format of this book. The material in this book are powerful things you need to know about
in the Windows Development environment. I think you need this book to pass the exam. I think that 80 percent of the
exam 98-362 is derived from this book. It could be more but that is my opinion I passed the exam April 19, 2014,
so I feel that I am able to give a realistic review of this book. Buy it and read it for the knowledge even if you do not
want to take the exam.

If you are a dominant woman,a dominant woman of lesser time,experience and degree, a submissive man etc.etc.etc. you are hereby forewarned! This is dominance to the nth degree. If you are just a reader of this genre you will say "whoa". Ms.Scarlet gives it to you honestly,unabashedly powerfully and whatever "ly" one can think of. I had to give it 5 stars for its' naked realism, willing truthfulness of the author and no doubt about where it leads and leaves the reader. I don't think that Ms.Scarlet would have it any other way!

Another excellent journal by Mistress Scarlet! She never fails to come up with the most ingenious, sadistic and entertaining ways to torture her helpless toy bitch boy. Mistress Scarlet and bitch boy are meant for each other, like a hammer and a nail. Bitch boy's pathetic submission seems to feed Mistress Scarlet's sadism like gasoline on a fire. I recommend this book for all true fans of female domination.

Best book on female anatomy I have seen!

This book is incredibly informative, and I considered myself well-educated before on the subject! I have been recommending it to all my friends and female peers (where appropriate).
The physiological anatomy section is outstanding in its comprehensiveness of the pelvic region. I do wish she'd spent a tad more time on other erogenous zones, particularly the breasts, regarding arousal response and stimulation, and possibly effects related to nursing, and maybe piercings, too.
I also really appreciate the sections on the many types of peaks or orgasms which are possible, and emphasis of the concept that one can train the body/mind to be more responsive in that way. Seeing much personal success now I know some things are possible and happen for others.
Phenomenally informative, and I like the lush, passionate writing style, though it may not be for everyone.

I so wish I had learned from nurse and sex-educator Sheri Winston as a teen. Reading her book has made me a better lover.

Sheri takes her readers on "an in-depth, illustrated tour of the land of female genitalia, feminine sexuality and the intimate erotic arts." (p.5) For all humans who have female parts or "like to play with them."

The human body is so delightful and complex. Sheri teaches the "symphony of arousal," how singles or couples can become literally entranced in sex.

Four examples of what I didn't know before reading Sheri: 1) She explains what is known about female ejaculation. 2) Sheri points out that women have more total erectile tissue than men, though much is buried. 3) Sheri connects loving well with the heart practice of not judging and comparing others. 4) She explains the biology behind the power of slow sex; why less movement is sometimes more. Thank you, Ms. Winston.

This book provides wonderful erotic art; a lengthy introduction (which some readers skipped); hands-on practical tips for creating energy and arousal; as well as a list of Sheri's personal 16+ types of orgasm from "little tickly genital-sneeze orgasms" to "love-gasms" to "telepathic mutual mind-blowers." (p. 16)

The Best (and Most Helpful) Book I've Ever Read

I lived in Portland, OR for a year and while I decided it's not where I'd like to settle I feel so glad to have spent time there if only to have been introduced to this book (and the lovely friend that recommended it). I was complaining about my sex life to my friend and she let me borrow a copy of this book which she recommended highly. She told me it's one of the best books she's ever read and, after spending time with it, I couldn't agree more! The book focuses on "wholistic sexuality" and discusses and connects many ideas to a person's individuality spirituality. If you believe that the individual is void of spirituality then you may not like this book. I am a spiritual (non-religious) person and I really appreciate the ways Sheri explains sex in a way that builds true confidence. I look back on all the sex I had before coming into contact with this book and I actually feel sorry for my old self that didn't know any better. Thank you Sheri! You have given me a great gift in this life.

This is the first time I have ever used Amazon to buy a book and at first I was kinda sceptical. You know buying the book online and it not being what you expect it to be, but, the book was in excelent condition and everything worked out great. In Nightmare Island two Marines from a small South Carolina town land on Guadalcanal's Red Beach on August 7, 1942. They fight with Edson's Raiders on Bloody Ridge when it is attacked by an overwhelming Japanese force and go on the longest patrol behind enemy lines of the war with Carlson's Raiders. This is the story of how two men, one young enough to be the other's son, struggle to stay alive together in this vicious new war in the Pacific.

When one of them carves the first two notches on the grips of the 45 automatic given to him by his nine year old son to help him fight the Japanese, he is close to losing his life and very nearly his mind.

How does war without mercy change them? Will they both survive?

All but lost to history, Guadalcanal was the first combined land, sea and air victory of the war. Vicious, brutal and personal, it stopped the Japanese advance across the Pacific, changed the momentum of the war and gave hope to the people at home. Code named "Watchtower" it was Known as “Operation Shoestring” to those who were there. It lasted six brutal months during which the First Marine Division, sick, malnourished, shell shocked and battle fatigued, hung on by a thread through attack after attack from superior Japanese forces.

This is their story through the eyes of two fictional Marines who, with the rest of them, fought every day to stay alive.

Historical fiction with great history and very good fiction

This is an outstanding historical novel with the emphasis on the history more than the fiction. That said, the fictionalized part the book, centering on a middle-aged Marine cartographer and a 17-year-old sharpshooter, both from the same South Carolina town, doesn’t disappoint.

The history is even more captivating and evidences a huge amount of research on the part of the first time novelist. I have read a lot of WWII in the Pacific stuff, going back to Richard Tregaskis’s Guadalcanal Diary, probably the first war account that I ever read as a young teenager in the mid-1950s. From McClure’s book, I have learned a remarkable amount about this most important WWII land battle of 1942. I knew nothing about the naval Battle of Suva that happened as the first Marines were hitting the beaches of the Canal. Generals Vandergrist and Edson were merely names to me before reading of their crucial role during the entire Marine deployment of the battle.

There are a number of amazing set pieces in the book that I will long remember. One involves a flight of a plane carrying the protagonist to the Island in which, to escape marauding Zeros, the pilot took refuge in a huge thunderstorm. They escape but not without a near-death confrontation with the elements. Another involves a description of the aftermath of one of the early encounters of the Marines and a contingent of Japanese on an invasion beach. It is truly harrowing.

My one complaint about the Kindle version of the book is that it lacks maps. I would love to be able to see the locations of the multiple naval battles, the crucial airstrip, the “Slot,” etc. I understand that the hard copy will have those maps.

Word has it that there are more books coming from this fine author. I anxiously await their release.

Personal and military and social history meld for an engrossing read.

A gripping telling of the personal story of a son of a once privilged Southern family thats falken on hard times. Good character development lends immediacy to the skillfully woven-in saga of Guadalcanal and the deserted and abandoned Marines who held on and prevailed against overwhelming odds reversing what had been the inevitable seeming domination of the Japanese War Machine. Shifting points of view make a complex human and military understandable and palpable for the contemporary reader. But wait! There's more to come in the remaiming two volumes of this trillogy.

Excellent read!

While I had trouble with the violence, I had to give it a 5-star rating because it was so well-written and beautifully researched. Mr. McClure's vocabulary is astounding and his writing style interesting and most informative. I could not put the book down until I was finished. I understood that the level of violence was necessary to the story because after all this was a horrific war, and no amount of sugar coating could change that. I personally have a hard time reading violence even when it's true, but this book was so good I had to keep going!

About the Author
Dr. Donald H. Cunningham, professor of English and coordinator of technical and professional communication in the Department of English at Auburn University, is author of a number of college textbooks. He has served as president of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing and was founding editor of The Technical Writing Teacher (now Technical Communication Quarterly). He also has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Conference on College Composition and Communication. He is a fellow of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing and the Society for Technical Communication. He was awarded the Society for Technical Communication Jay R. Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication.

Dr. Thomas E. Pearsall, professor emeritus and former head of the Department of Rhetoric at the University of Minnesota, is author of a number of college textbooks. He has served as president of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing and is the founder and first president of the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication. Dr. Pearsall is a fellow of both the Society of Technical Communication and the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing. He is listed in Who�s Who in America and the Who�s Who is the World.

Great book

I had to buy this book as part of a college course curriculum.

This is a great book for someone who is looking to beef up their business writing skills. I really like it as a 'reference' manual. It shows examples of how to write and communicate in the business world, basically what to and what not to say and do.

It is also easy to read and understand, which is a big plus for an educational literary work.

Could use some updating.

This is a good book to give you detailed information on different kinds of writing you might do at an office. The only problem with the book is that it was written in the early 2000s, making for a very boring computer chapter, because they were talking about how to use different programs like we have never seen a computer before. I think that this book needs to be updated, especially the chapter on computers, but other than that, definitely a good resource for everything business related, including reports, resumes, e-mails, memos, letters of all kinds, among other things.

About the Author

Mike Goldsmith is the former Head of the Acoustic Group at the United Kingdom's National Physical Laboratory and an author of many books for general readers. Two of his books have been short-listed for the Aventis prize (now the Royal Society prize) for science books.

" Discord" is a learned and enjoyable story of noise and a treasure trove of curious facts and anecdotes.
It contains a long history of uses and annoyances from the big bang to battles to traffic noise. You will find the remarkable ways in which some animals, such as shrimps, use noise as a weapon or to catch prey; how medicine uses noise to shatter kidney stones or how it was employed positively in some aspects of music.

One misses perhaps a stronger contrast to music as the great antagonist to noise and chaos? What is the nature of this difference?
Noise appears to be a timely subject as a new tome Noise: A Human History of Sound and Listeningpromises to deal with similar material. If this is too academic for you there is also Tassilo's Vienna Violin/ Fresh Classical Music Guide/ Times/ Places which deals with the subject of a history of harmonious and noisy sound from the Big Bang to classical music in the format of a narrative.
