About the Author
A.J. Martyr has held senior technical positions with several of the major test plant manufacturers and consultancy firms over the last 40 years. He is now Honorary Visiting Professor of Powertrain Engineering at Bradford University.

M.A.Plint died in November 1998, four days after the publication of the second edition and after a long and distinguished career in engineering and authoriship.

Wow learned a lot. This was harder to read than most of his other books in his "Walk in the Light" Series of 11 or 12 books. Hard to read because it was loaded with complicated data. Still worth the effort but, it was stretching my limits. He spent a lot of time talking about the Hebrew letters Aleph and Tav a/k/a the Alpha and Omega in the Greek based NT book of Revelations in English. This is another name for Jesus which shows up in the first line of the book of Genesis but is only visible in the Hebrew Text, not in our English versions. It reads that "in the beginning Elohim (God) created the heaven and earth with the Aleph-Tav" (Jesus). The Aleph-and Tav is the first and last letter of the Hebrew Alpha-Bet. When Yeshua (Jesus) claims to be either the Aleph-Tav or the Alpha-Omega, it is suggesting that Yeshua is the first letter and last letter of the 22 letter Hebrew Alephbet, and all of the letters in between. Hence he is everything, and "by him all things consist" (Collisions 1:17).

This book also states that the Greek Septuagint is the oldest complete copy of the Tanach or Old Testament existing in the world today and it was updated into a Hebrew Version later. However it was originally written in Hebrew but those copies have been destroyed or have deteriorated with old age. Evidently the Dead Sea Scrolls or bible fragments back the Septuagint copy more often than it does the Hebrew Copy, suggesting that the Hebrew copy was tampered with. Besides it is widely known that the scribes who created the Masoretic Text in Hebrew removed the name of YHWH from the Tanach at least 134 times.

Lost In Translation.

What I like about this book the most is the revelation of meanings that we don't see in the English translations of Scripture.
Things get lost in translation and some of those things that I read about in this book are eye-openers!

One of those revelations is the indications in the first verse of Genesis about two creations, a physical and a spiritual.
I thought that the Paleo-Hebrew and some of the subtle nuances were fascinating also.
Another interesting parallel was the tribal banners and the constellations.

I found this book helpful for me personally as someone that likes to compare different versions of Scripture.
There is a lot of information in this book and like all of Todd Bennett's books, it's very well done!

Comprehensive verb review

This is a very comprehensive German verb workbook and I found it to be exactly what I needed to prepare for an upcoming trip to Germany and Austria. This product is probably best for a student with some familiarity with the language, as it is very comprehensive. I have had two years of High School German and one year of college level German, albeit many years ago, and found this book to be an ideal review. With Germanic languages, the verb is integral to the listener's ability to understand the meaning of a given sentence, and this guide enables the student to attain the level of confidence required to understand the action. I wish I had used this product when I was in high school, as it would have certainly accelerated my progress with the language. I have also tried Rosetta Stone and other similar DVD-based products, and found them to be too slow for the type of review I needed. As a break to my German verb studies, I found German news programs via the web to be an ideal supplement to this guide, allowing me to tune my ear to normal conversational German. In summary, I find this product very useful and give it an A-plus. Sehr gut!

Disappointing

I write "disappointing" as a life long language teacher and learner. My main criticisms are two. First, the production values are low, with examples apparently pasted into the explanations in what looks like photocopies (hence these phrases are "dead" in a digital reader, cannot be searched for or marked up).

My second problem is bad editing. There are a huge number of capitalization errors, which are crucial to correct German. These add to the impression that the book has somehow been cut and pasted by non-native speakers, native-speakers never having tolerated such inaccuracies. As an intermediate student of German, it is not for me to say that the sentences are unidiomatic, but compared to texts and exercises prepared in German (such as Dreyer and Schmitt's Lehr- und �berungsbuch der deutschen Grammatik -- alas, not in ebook form), the sentences often ring false or at least awkward. Save your money and if you have to, go back to paper books.

Good resource, ridiculous amount of typos

While the lessons are explained well and the exercises are helpful, the number of typos is completely distracting. There is nearly a noun capitalization typo in every exercise. This isn't just an occasional, hard-to-find mistake, so I don't understand how this wasn't spotted before publication. Very unprofessional.

a math classic

This is a very interesting paperback book from Dover on arithmetic. It has fractions, division, square roots, the usual math stuff. But it also has world problems, like mixtures and percents that can still be applied in today's world. Dr. Klaf has written several other books that are equally interesting.

Memory jogging review

Have you ever blanked out when someone asked you a simple arithmetic question? Yeah, you know what I'm talking about.
This book is aimed at adults who have forgotten much of the basic arithmetic taught in school. It starts with the basics: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and then ranges over a variety of topics (business and financial calculations, percentages, charts, angle measurements, logarithms, mixtures and solutions, averages, etc.).
It contains over 800 problems, easy-to-follow questions and answers in a question and answer style.
If you are returning to school, or have school aged children (and need to help with homework) this book can help to jog your memory.
