An argument that proves the opposite

Notwithstanding French’s title and, presumably, his intention, this book shows that there was no strategy at all and constitutes the most persuasive argument for British neutrality in 1914 that I have read. Paul Guinn’s excellent British Strategy and Politics, 1914-1918 is included in the bibliography but none of its points seem to have been assimilated.
