This textbook is composed of twenty tutorials which go into great detail concerning the development, cerebral flow regulation, cerebral arterial & venous circulation, the surgical and radiographic anatomy of arteries and veins in the spinal cord and brain.
The next step the author takes is to look at cerebral aneurysms, malformations of the brain, dural arterial malformations, spinal AVMs, etc. He then goes into the treatment of these lesions using a variety of embolic agents and spring coils. There is a separate chapter toward the end of the textbook just on complications. He discusses embolic and thrombotic stroke and its treatment. The line drawings depicting the circulatory anatomy are very nice and detailed. A few photos and cadaveric illustrations could have been added to complement the text. This book is well suited for any medical student, resident, neurosurgeon, neurologist, or radiologist.
