About the Author
Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, a lama in the B�n tradition of Tibet, presently resides in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is the founder and director of Ligmincha Institute, an organization dedicated to the study and practice of the teachings of the B�n tradition. He was born in Amritsar, India, after his parents fled the Chinese invasion of Tibet and received training from both Buddhist and B�n teachers, attaining the degree of Geshe, the highest academic degree of traditional Tibetan culture. He has been in the United States since 1991 and has taught widely in Europe and America.

An excellent support guide.

I"m glad I didn't start with this book on the three doors of body, speech, and mind. In many ways it's more of a reference/guide book to support an existing practice than to start a new one. As such, I feel it's probably most useful for students enrolled in his "The Three Doors" training program, or for self starters, like myself, who use his practice trilogy on the three doors.

My main concern with beginning with this book is that I would have almost certainly never have done anything with it. I'd just have more head knowledge. Excellent head knowledge, but unused, unpracticed head knowledge just the same. Yet this doesn't mean this isn't an excellent book. And if you're only looking for a concise understanding of this Bon practice, I can't think of a better single volume than this one.

However if you would actually like to have a better chance of changing your life, I'd recommend starting with these three practice manuals first. All three come with either a practice CD or DVD.

Awakening The Luminous Mind: Tibetan Meditation for Inner Peace and Joy -- This is my favorite. It can be practiced anytime, anywhere, with near instant results.
Awakening the Sacred Body -- The DVD makes this so much easier to understand. Drawings of this yogic practice never worked for me.
Tibetan Sound Healing: Seven Guided Practices to Clear Obstacles, Cultivate Positive Qualities, and Uncover Your Inherent Wisdom -- Finding a supportive place to practice this may be a challenge.

None of these practices are difficult to do. Which is part of the problem since we tend to value complexity over simplicity, assuming that it's more advanced and thus more effective. This has had lead teachers of all traditions to come up with all kinds of preliminary teachings and practices just to get the student to the point where they can finally accept simplicity. You can save yourself many years and much grief if you can accept the effectiveness of such simple practices like these.

By the courtesy of the Department of State we were granted access to the Jefferson manuscripts in the archives of the Department "with the privilege of copying for publication." After comparing former editions of Jefferson's writings which contain the anas with each other and with the original manuscripts, we feel gratified by the belief that we have been able to bring together the first complete edition in a single volume of these crisp, interesting and famous private notes, opinions and conjectures of this celebrated statesman and author.

Apart from his methodical habit of preserving copies of his voluminous official correspondence, opinions, and public documents, Jefferson tells us in the preface to the revised "notes," that, sometime after entering upon the duties of his new office as the first Secretary of State in 1789, he began to jot down the "passing transactions" in aid of his memory, "on loose scraps of paper, taken out of my pocket in the moment, and laid by to be copied fair at leisure, which, however, they hardly ever were." The earliest of these memoranda bears the date of Aug. 13, 1791.

History at its source

An excellent read - especially because it is the writing of one of the Founding Fathers. This volume should be read after reading a few biographies, particularly; Hamilton, Burr, Jefferson and Washington. That background will help in understanding Jefferson's sometimes subtle digs and jabs at his contemporaries. There is a self-serving side to the Anas, but that is the nature of almost all personal accounts and easily identified with some prior reading.

One can watch the growing corrosive effects of "party" on politics - each side, Federalists and Democratic Republicans, exaggerating the vices of the other and hyping the virtue of their own philosophy. Eminently readable, but keep Wikipedia handy to look-up numerous 2nd and 3rd tier players that T.J. will reference.

Interesting also that the editor places his name on the same by-line as Jefferson. Apparently he was not cowed by the Great One: chutzpa trumps humility with Sawvil.

Lunar Rampage was entertaining, smart, and witty.

Cora Nash is an aspiring professional photographer, vegetarian and animal lover. She's a big city girl, but agrees to stay with her grandmother over the summer and help her with house renovations in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Cora thought it would give her a chance to spend some much wanted time with her grandmother, whom she adores, but the first night she's there, strange things start to occur.
Not only does Cora hear howling at night, her grandmother's trash can is torn into and she notices huge teeth marks on an empty can. Something definitely odd is happening in the small town, and when one of the locals goes missing, Cora is determined to find out exactly what is transpiring.

Lunar Rampage was an entertaining, smart, and witty page turner. I adored the clever and comical banter that transpired throughout the book, especially between Cora and her grandmother. Cora is an intelligent, sarcastic and charming heroine, and she definitely holds her own. The other characters were also multidimensional, well-developed and interesting throughout the book. Lunar Rampage is a fast faced book filled with a combination of suspense, mystery, comedy and romance. The ending will leave you wanting more.

Samantha Cross is someone you will definitely want to put on your 'amazing new authors to watch' list.

Suspenseful Read!

Lunar Rampage by Samantha Cross is one hell of a suspenseful novel that readers will come to love forever. A paranormal romance that won't be forgotten. Samantha's plot drives readers into intrigue from the first page and until the last. Beware readers, you will fall deep in love with the funny and intoxicating read. I was hooked and kept in suspense on every page that I read. A real page turner. And one that will leave readers wondering what happens next. A super great cliffhanger at the end will keep readers coming back looking for the next novel in this exciting and well written series. I can't wait to read the second novel by this talented writer whose words literally pop off the pages and keep you laughing so hard.

The characters are nothing like you expect. Take for instance the main character of this novel comes back home to her small rural town from the big bad city of Detroit to help her grandmother with renovating the old house and barn. But soon, she will learn about the mysterious events that took place without the town noticing until recently when attacks on many innocent lives occurs and with her own investigating and close encounter with death, she will find that the answers are not what she wanted to know or see at all.

Her worries for her eccentric grandmother and her new friends will make her a great new heroine that readers will admire. A woman who has her own flaws that make her an attractive and funny character that all readers can easily relate to. The conversations she has with her grandmother and friends will have readers laughing until the cry. I enjoyed reading this brilliant new book in a new and luring series. I look forward to the second stunning masterpiece by Samantha Cross. I also highly recommend reading this book to everyone everywhere. I promise you won't be disappointed when you do. Overall, I rate Lunar Rampage a five out of five stars.

Good Reading

The forest isn’t quite as peaceful as it used to be.

Cora imagined her summer would be filled with memories of reconnecting with her grandma and taking pictures in the forest. She never thought she’d come face to face with a creature straight out of her worst nightmare. Worst of all, the werewolf might be someone Cora knows. Will she figure out who the werewolf is before it is too late? I must warn readers that Lunar Rampage contains graphic violence and the descriptions of the werewolves are truly terrifying. Readers sensitive to this sort of content are forewarned.

Cora is definitely one of the quirkiest women I’ve come across in a book. The things she says are so odd and yet it all seems very natural for her. As I read, I was always wondering what would come out of her mouth next. Her eccentric behavior is something she definitely inherited from her grandma. Cora’s grandma, is definitely a hoot. While she’s certainly not like any grandma I’ve ever met, I could clearly picture the woman Ms. Cross created. Although, it was always entertaining to watch Cora and her grandmother, sometimes I do feel like it was a little over the top. Besides her sense of humor, one of the things I like most about Cora is her innate kindness. She is willing to give most people a chance. She sees friendship and possibilities in people that others wouldn’t give a second glance. Consequently, she manages to attract a colorful assortment of friends that really enhance this tale.

Cora and “bad boy” Max have the beginnings of great chemistry. Their first encounter is not exactly pleasant, but once they spend more time together, I could see their attraction beginning to grow. However, every time that Cora and Max got close to acting on their budding romance, something happened to interrupt them. I found this exceedingly frustrating, and I sincerely hope that Ms. Cross has plans to develop their relationship further in the next book.

I have every reason to hope that there will be a sequel to Lunar Rampage. While the ending was satisfying, it also raised a lot of questions and was very open ended. Cora and Max aren’t quite out of danger yet. I’m definitely looking forward to reading about what happens to them next.

I enjoyed reading Lunar Rampage and getting to know a heroine as unique as Cora. Readers looking for a fast paced, hair-raising paranormal would do well to pick up a copy of Lunar Rampage today.
