John Coltrane-Omnibook: for C Instruments

Wow!!!!!!!! Whew!!!!!!!!!!!! Unreal!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been attempting these solos on the piano and playing along with the recordings (Spotify). Trane is unbelievable and although here and there a few of the notes differ between the Omnibook and the John Coltrane Solos book, but as far as I'm concerned, this book is great. It is in concert key, plus it has twice as many solos as the JCS. Make sure to hit "Witches Pit" (Pepper Adams; last tune in book). Coltrane's solo is WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can someone be that COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!JC Forever!!!!!!!

Dangerous book. For advanced sight readers for sure. But you can learn a ton even if you aren't the best reader. Nice clean transcripts with the chord changes so you can analyze each bar of notes and how he approaches the chord. Killer stuff for the adventurer.
